Hi, I am Xochitl. (pronounced So-chi) - wife to Jesse, mama to Emma and Jovani, and a passionate birth worker dedicated to supporting women through one of life's
most transformative experiences.
I grew up in North Carolina, where I met my best friend and love of my life. After a few years, we packed up our apartment, loaded everything and we owned, and
set on a three-day road trip to Arizona. A little while later, on October 1, 2021, we exchanged vows in a breathtaking Maui beach ceremony, marking the beginning
of our greatest adventure yet.
For years, I worked in the legal field, specializing in Personal Injury - an entirely different world from where I am now! Everything changed when we decided to
start a family. Pregnancy was both beautiful and overwhelming. My first experience with motherhood began with a tough pregnancy, leading to an induction at 37 weeks.
While I was overjoyed to meet my daughter, Emma, the journey left me feeling uncertain about doing it all over again. The unknown scared me, and I knew if I ever had
another baby, something had to be different.
When I became pregnant with my son, I made a promise to myself; this time, I would approach birth with confidence, preparation, and trust in my body.
I dove into the birth world- reading, listening, and learning everything I could. With every book and podcast, I felt a shift. Instead of fearing labor, I welcomed it.
I set my heart on an unmedicated birth, and by the grace of God and all my preparation, I achieved my goal. On March 30, 2024, I brought my son into the world,
completely unmedicated.
That moment lit a fire in me. I couldn't stop talking about how incredible birth could be when a woman feels informed, supported, and empowered. I knew I had found my
calling- to help other women people experience their own version of an empowered birth.
I trained with Dona International and have since had the incredible honor of walking alongside strong, powerful people as they bring new life into the world.
Nothing compares to witnessing the strength of a laboring person, the raw beauty of birth, and the transformation that takes place in those sacred moments.
It would be my greatest joy to support you on your journey- whether it's your first baby or your fifth. Every birth is unique, and your story deserves to be honored.
Let's walk this path together.
